- I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian, although I'm slowly starting to cut dairy and eggs out of my diet.
- About Me:
- I am a new lawyer, born and raised in Houston. I've been vegetarian since Feb. 19, 2004 (I call it my "Veggie-versary"), and I am the "mother" of two very spoiled housecats who are the loves of my life. Texas and vegetarianism seem to be antonyms, but being the only vegetarian in my family, group of friends, and professional circle has been nothing short of interesting!

So, Texas is not exactly veggie-friendly. I had to explain what tofu was to my grandfather, and often when people find out I'm a vegetarian, their response is, "But you're such a nice girl... what would ever make you want to do a thing like that?" My family hunts, and my friends all love the Texas BBQ and chicken fried steak. I can name the friends I have that are vegetarian/vegan on one hand. My name is Justin. I thought I was the only vegetarian in Houston. :) I've been a vegetarian for almost 2 years and I just went vegan at the beginning of this year. You wouldn't believe the criticism I get for the way I eat...than again I guess you do. I'm sure there are worse things we could be ..huh?
